Speech Pathologist - Mixed Caseload

Fixed Term - Part Time

(48 hrs per fortnight)

 

We are seeking a Speech Pathologist to join our professional team to provide efficient, effective, evidence-based speech pathology services across the campuses of Wimmera Health Care Group (incorporating Wimmera Base Hospital & Dimboola Hospital). This fixed term/part time position is available from 08/02/2017 to 24/11/2017. The Grade 1 Speech Pathologist is responsible for provision of clinical services across a diverse caseload including assessment and management of paediatric and adult clients in the acute and outpatient setting. A strong emphasis is placed on professional development, with attractive financial support for ongoing education. Clinical supervision is also provided and participation in the New Graduate Mentoring Program for Allied Health Staff.

 

Key Selection Criteria includes:

Essential:

  • Eligible for membership of Speech Pathology Australia (SPA)
  • Entry Level Competency Based Occupational Standards (CBOS) skills outlined by SPA
  • Thorough grounding in adult and paediatric assessment and intervention including dysphagia management
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and enthusiastically as part of a multidisciplinary team as well as independently
  • Highly professional and effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Current Police Check (National Name check)
  • Current Working With Children Check
  • Current Driver’s Licence
  • Commitment to working in a rural health organization

Desirable:

  • Current membership of SPA
  • Experience in the administration and interpretation of videofluoroscopy
  • Good academic record
  • Relevant clinical experience
  • Experience in the use of computer programs including Microsoft Word, Excel, and e-mail
